Status of the program's claims

The status section holds the registers that record where each of the Broken-Born program’s claims stands: dead, standing, open, conjectural, or replaced by a corrected version. Each register is a list of links, one entry per claim, saying where the claim stands and on what grounds, so the state of the whole program can be read without opening the topic pages. A claim’s status is taken from the most current source in a fixed order of precedence, and a claim once recorded as dead is not revived.

Registers only: every page in this section is a register with status record, so the section makes no claims of its own. The five registers are the graveyard, claims that stand, open problems and the queue, conjectures and superseded statements.

Map#

The registers run from the dead claims to the superseded ones.

  • The graveyard: dead claims comes first, following the root CLAUDE.md rule that negative results are reported prominently (negative results and dead claims). It gives every obituary page with what was claimed, what killed it and the ruling or decision that settled it, then the dead items told inside other pages and the predictions withdrawn from the program’s table.
  • Claims that stand lists every program claim with status alive, in tables grouped by section, each line giving the claim’s tags and what verifies it: a script in the gate, a review round, or the derivation, postulate or citation alone. It marks the claims under pressure, chiefly the dark-energy sector.
  • Open problems and the queue gives the open items of #11 §14 in order, the open questions raised outside that list, the open ends of the toy models, and the current work queue.
  • Conjectures: chat-only and popsci-only claims keeps apart the results that exist only in the original claude.ai conversation and the claims found only in the two popular articles, each with its relation to the record.
  • Superseded statements pairs each statement the program replaced, such as the original P2 and the exponential cliff, with its replacement and with where the replacement is recorded.

How a status is decided#

  • One status per page. The registers track the program’s claims, whose pages have status dead, alive, open, conjecture or superseded. Pages of established physics (established), of method (method), of record (record) and section indexes (hub) are not registered.
  • Status shows in titles. A dead claim’s page is titled “Obituary: …”, an open problem’s “Open: …”, with its number OPn when #11 §14 gives it one, and a superseded statement’s “… (superseded)”; chat-only and popsci-only claims carry “(chat-only)” and “(popsci-only)”, and prediction pages are titled “Row n: …”. Alive and established pages carry no marker.
  • Folded items. A page sometimes holds a minor item of another status, such as an open sub-question on an established page or a superseded earlier form of an alive claim, in a section of its own headed “Open:”, “Superseded:”, “Chat-only:”, “Popsci-only:” or “Conjecture:”. The registers link those sections directly. The graveyard lists the dead items told inside other pages in the same way.
  • Precedence, most current first (wiki/CLAUDE.md):
    1. the root CLAUDE.md, section “Since the handoff”;
    2. checkpoint #11 v2.2 (papers/broken-born-checkpoint-v2.md) and the toy-model note v2 (papers/reciprocity-toy-models.md);
    3. the review adjudications (review/round4-adjudication.md, review/round3-adjudication.md);
    4. #13 (papers/conjugate-special-relativity.md);
    5. HANDOFF.md, whose §2 soliton candidate and §8 queue are superseded;
    6. the notes: the calc notes #2–#8 are final for their own scope, the lab notebook #1 and the program v1.0 (#9) are superseded as reference, and #14 is withdrawn;
    7. the popular articles. #12 presents the framework as if it were confirmed and is never a source for a claim’s status.
  • Dead stays dead. Claims killed in HANDOFF.md §2, in #11 §9 and §12, and in the adjudications are reported as dead on their own obituary pages, and no later framing revives them (negative results and dead claims).
  • Tags carry over exactly. A register copies each claim’s provenance tags as its sources attach them and never upgrades one. Standing is not confirmation: a machine check confirms arithmetic, not the model it encodes.
  • Unresolved disagreements are reported, not settled. Where two sources of equal rank disagree and no document decides the point, the page says so instead of choosing. The cases are collected on conflicts between sources.

Boundaries#

The registers index claims; the topic pages carry the content, and every register entry links to one. The dated sequence of deaths and corrections is the timeline; the documents, their versions and their precedence are under documents. The observations that could change a status are on predictions and kill conditions, and how a claim earns its tag, and how the scripts in the gate check it, is described under method.
