History

The history section records how the Broken-Born program developed: when each result, correction, review and decision happened, and which document holds it. The program was developed with Claude on claude.ai in September and October 2026 and moved to Claude Code and this repository on 2026-10-19, so its record has two layers: the artifacts #1–#15 carried over from the chat, almost none of them dated and known mainly in the order they were written, and the dated, version-controlled files from the move onward. The section makes no physics claims of its own; it says where the claims came from, in what order, and what each document is worth as a source.

Record only: every page in this section is a record, so it ranks no claims of the program’s own; those are tracked in the registers of claims that stand, the graveyard, open problems and the queue, conjectures and superseded statements.

  • Timeline comes first because it answers “when”. It runs from Born’s paper of 1938 and the literature the program measures itself against, through the claude.ai era in the creation order of HANDOFF.md §3, to the dated record of the repository: the import of 2026-10-19, review round 3 and the retirement of the soliton candidate, the toy models and review round 4, the checkpoint’s versions 2.1 and 2.2, and the building of this wiki with the file of suspected source errors its verifiers keep. It says which dates are recorded and which are not, and ends with what is pending: the work queue and the third data release of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), the program’s nearest external test.
  • The three debts follows because the debts organized the early work. They were the lab notebook’s three most severe open problems: the field equation for momentum-space geometry (Debt 1), the origin and shape of the velocity gate (Debt 2), and the instability that was to make dark matter clump by velocity (Debt 3; Obituary: velocity clumping, the founding image). The page gives what each asked, how far the calc notes #2–#8 took it (Debt 3 closed against the program, Debt 1 closed in structure, Debt 2’s mechanism found along the way), what each left open, how the documents name them, and the suspected errors in their documents that await a ruling.
  • Documents closes the section. It maps the artifacts #1–#15 and the files written since the move, gives each one’s standing, and states the order of precedence that settles disagreements between them; its pages describe each document in turn, and the cases of disagreement are on Conflicts between sources.
